Richard A Johnston, 67, passed away peacefully at his home on February 16, 2021. He was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on March 14, 1953 to George and Doris Johnston. Richard was a machinist by trade and loved to tinker with things. He loved his child and step children. He was close to his grandkids and enjoyed taking trips to Massachusetts to visit his mother and family.

Richard leaves behind his mother Doris M Johnston (Tonks) of Framingham Massachusetts. His daughter Allie Chase (Johnston) and spouse John Chase of St. Albans. His step daughter Carrie Aldrige (Sanfacon) and spouse Dan Aldridge of Isle LaMotte. His step son Louie Sanfacon and significant other Megan Boggs of Denver Colorado. His step son Jesse Sanfacon of Denver Colorado, his Kenneth Johnston and wife Debra of Massachusetts, his sister Barbara jJhnston of Massachusetts, 13 grandchildren and many others that loved him.

He was predeceased by his father George A Johnston of Framingham Massachusetts. His spouse Patricia A Johnston (Hamel) of St. Albans Vt, and his sister Lynne Helmuth of Massachusetts

I would like to thank all those that touched his heart at lane press and the love everyone showed him through the years. He was a man of very few words but those he liked, he loved. He raised his only daughter himself and her many friends at times. He cherished those great moments in life and loved the outdoors.

There will be a celebration of life sometime in August tba. Any memorial contributions or donations may be made out to his daughter Allie Chase 49 North Elm St, Apt 2 St. Albans Vt 05478. The family invites you to share your memories and condolences by visiting

Peace be with everyone he loves. A man of few words. Spoken mostly by his loving actions. You will be missed Rick. Love and hugs to your beautiful wife. Your generation of love you had to leave behind will leave on with treasures of memories kept close to their hearts. RIP 💫
