Dorothy "Dolly"  Johnson (Gomo)
Jericho- Dorothy “Dolly” Johnson, 86, passed away Monday April 2, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones.
Dolly was born on October 20th 1931 in Jericho, Vermont to Ernest and Grace (Parker) Gomo. She was married to Walter E. Johnson Sr. for 59 years, prior to his passing on 1/7/11.
Dolly was an amazing woman who welcomed everyone in to her life, home, and her family. She had an incredible sense of humor and a wit that was second to none. Dolly listened intensely, loved fiercely, and would be a confidant to anyone who crossed her path. She will be remembered standing at her stove with a big smile as she made her “Dolly’s Donuts”. Dolly was the heart and soul of her family and matriarch that will be remembered for many generations.
She was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles # 3210 in Jeffersonville for more than 30 years, where she held many offices.
Dolly is survived by her three children, Walter Johnson Jr, Rose Elder and her husband Chuck, Sally Russin and her husband Wayne. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchild and 2 great great grandchildren.
Dolly leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with many great nieces and great nephews.
Dolly was predeceased by her parents Ernest and Grace (Parker) Gomo, her husband Walter E. Johnson, her siblings, and her niece Kathy Harris.
The family would like to give a special thanks to: Tony Russin, Dr. Christopher Hebert, Thomas McKenna, Peter Root, Tristan and Christopher Harris, Deb Morin and Cindy Ryan.
There will be a Mass at St. Pius X, Route 15 in Essex, VT on Saturday April 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM., open to friends and family. There will be a coffee hour immediately following in the lower level.
Donations can be made in Dorothy’s name to Essex Rescue, 1 Educational Drive, Essex Junction, VT 05452.
