Jim's WWII Experiences

I worked with Jim in the 1960s and 1970s at The Foxboro Company, Digital Systems Division, in Massachusetts. We both started at Foxboro during the infancy of digital computers, he as a programmer and I as an applications engineer. I always enjoyed interacting with Jim. What I didn't know about Jim until last year, was his great service to his country in WWII as a B-17 pilot. He never talked about it. His account of being shot down over France, one week after D-Day, evading the Germans and eventual escape to Switzerland is amazing. Jim, with the help of his daughter in 2002, documented the account of his escape in an excellent on-line writeup. Belated "Thank You for Your Service Jim". RIP
