Obituary for
Cecile Blanche Corriveau (Brassard)
Cecile "Cie" Corriveau was brought home to Our Heavenly Father on December 4, 2015. She was born on March 31, 1948 in Mattapoisett, MA to Henry & Thelma (Lemaire) Brassard. She met, and married Albert Corriveau Jr. in 1969. They moved to Vermont in 1973 where Cie worked as a nurse at the former Medical Center Hospital of Vermont, and was very active in her church and community. As devoted member of the church, she sang gospel and also visited several nursing homes. Cie especially enjoyed working with children. She became a foster parent & eventually adopted 4 of these children. She had a bit of wild side and was known to ride a motorcycle, & had her pilot's license. Artistic in many ways, she enjoyed painting in her spare time, along with singing. She enjoyed the simple things in life - going out for creemees & watching the sunset with her husband. She loved the water - watching the waves roll in and the clouds going by. Many family trips were taken to the Flying Tomato in Stowe, or Maine for seafood. Of course, the restaurant needed to be on the water so she could see it while she ate. "Hockey Night in Canada" was her favorite along with Hartford Whalers, as their logo represented her beloved ocean.
She is survived by her husband, Albert, and 6 children - Anthony and wife Rebecca of Virginia, Timothy and wife Michelle of Colchester, Brendan of Milton, Alexander of Burlington, Terry of Richford, and Tara of Richford. She also has 3 grandchildren - Annabelle & Ethan of Virginia, and Trey of Milton - and 3 sisters - Muriel Tice of Massachusetts, Lorraine Goldsmith of Virginia, & Diane Peterson of California.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015, at the Essex Alliance Church from 9-11 am, with service & reception to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in her memory at the Lund Center in Burlington, Vermont. The family would also like to thank Mrs. Kathleen Robare for her love & spiritual support.
