Diana Marie (Welch) Owen, 74, passed away on June 1, 2026, at the UVMMC in Burlington surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Oakland, California on November 5, 1951, daughter of the late John and Julia (Hussing) Welch.

Diana’s father was in the navy so she was well traveled and lived in many parts of the U.S. She spent three years in Yokohama, Japan (where she graduated high school and met her ex-husband), and then moved to Vermont to start a family. Fun fact: Diana attended the first Super Bowl in 1967 with her family in Los Angeles, CA, Green Bay vs. Kansas City. Diana was known for her signature deviled eggs and cheesecake, her impeccable smile and laugh, love for animals, and her ability to out talk anyone she met. She was a stay-at-home mom, worked for 911 emergency dispatch, and in the housekeeping department at an Inn. Her favorite role was being a grandparent and she loved spending time with and spoiling her grandkids and grandanimals. She will forever be known for her gentle soul, kindness and humor; even at the end of her life.

Diana is survived by her two sons Jesse Owen, Jason Owen and wife Sarah, her daughter Krystal Fuller and husband Josh, the father of her children Clifford Owen, five grandchildren Austin Owen, Madeline Owen, Eloise Owen, Joise Fuller and Fletcher Fuller, two great grandchildren Ava Owen and Sawyer Owen, several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, a cousin, an aunt, granddog Cosmo, and grandcat Toes.

Diana is also predeceased by her brother John Welch, sister Debra Peavler, and three dogs: Snowball, Sugar and Bear.

A service was held in the family lot in Deer View Cemetery in Willison.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the Catamount Country Club in Williston, VT on Thursday, June 18 from 4-7pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Diana’s memory may be made to the Humane Society of Chittenden County, https://www.hsccvt.org Please visit www.awrfh.com to share your memories and condolences.
