Obituary for Jennifer Lynn Maraget

Jennifer Lynn Maraget of Hardwick, Vermont gained her angel wings at 1:59pm on March 10, 2024 in Burlington, VT at the age of 63. She passed peacefully with family by her side and danced her way up to the pearly gates.

Jennifer was also referred to as Jen, or Jenny throughout her life. She was a fiery redhead to her core and lived every day to the fullest. She filled so many lives with joy and love as she had a heart of gold that was open to all. She was a woman of strong Christian faith and loved God enormously. She was a master at “letting go and letting God”.

“Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.” - Corinthians 10:13

She was born in Carson (Wilmington), California to Peter Allen Maraget and Sandra Kolias Maraget on October 28, 1960. She had one younger brother, Scott Maraget.

She lived in CA until 1973 when her family relocated to Sharon, VT. She returned to live in Southern CA when she was in her late teens and remained there until 2003 when she moved back to VT. She made quite a name for herself as a child throughout her figure skating career. She was a woman who truly found joy in the simple things. She was a lover of animals (especially her cat, Cali), plants, the ocean and sunbathing, crafting, dancing, singing, spending time with family, writing poetry, spending time in nature, jewelry, worship and spreading the gospel. She had such a giving spirit and spent much of her time being of service to others.

She was married to Jack McDaniel in the early 1980s and together they welcomed Amberlynn on 6/20/1984, they divorced in 1986. Through her relationship with Cesar Gonzalez, they brought Angel into the world on 1/17/1991. She and Chris Bracamonte welcomed her youngest daughter, Lola on 7/4/1993.

She met her true love, Gilbert Musgrave in the mid 1980s and they were together at various times through 1992. They were reunited in 2013 and were spiritually joined on August 10, 2013.

Gilbert was a wonderful caregiver and soul mate, and together they will always share a beautiful love story.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father, brother and Aunt Toni.

Jennifer is survived by her partner, Gilbert, mother Sandra and Aunt Gail. Additionally, she is survived by her three daughters; Amberlynn (Nick) Belnap, Angel (Lee) Fishman, and Lola (Zach) Eppley. She was a fun and groovy ‘Dancin’ Granny’ to seven grandchildren; Noah, Frankie, Harper, Nash, Ella, Jolynn and Sophie.

“He never gives us more than we can handle” -Corinthians 10:13

She struggled with chronic health issues for many years and showed incredible resilience and strength as she navigated difficult situations daily. Despite her hardships, she was happy and had a smile that could light up the world. As her health declined, she found faith in knowing that she would be going to heaven and be welcomed by God’s loving embrace.

“The Lord appeared to us in the past saying, I have loved you with an everlasting love. I have drawn you with an unfailing kindness.” -Jeremiah 31:3

Jenny chose to be cremated and will be laid to rest at a later date in Pine Hill Cemetery in Sharon, VT, next to her father and brother. In lieu of a funeral, she requested that her daughters get together and do something special to celebrate her life.

May she rest in peace.
