Obituary for Michelle Rae Paquette

Michelle Rae Paquette passed peacefully with her daughter and son by her side on May 20th, 2023, at the Respite House in Colchester. She was born on September 2nd, 1949, in Burlington, VT. The daughter of Leonel and Helen Paquette, she grew up in Colchester on the Shadow Cross Egg Farm and graduated from Rice High School.

She spent many years raising her kids in Essex Junction and South Burlington and most recently resided in Winooski. Family was the most important thing to Michelle. She was blessed with two children and their families: Melissa and Scott Redfield, Jamie and Lindsay Richard, and their children Dylan and Kennedy.

For the past 30 years, she worked as a merchandiser and sales rep for a number of grocery brands. Her territory spanned Vermont, New Hampshire, and upstate New York. There is a good chance you would run into her while doing your own grocery shopping.

A person of faith, she spent 15 years as a hospice volunteer and several other years as a volunteer eucharistic minister at the UVM Medical Center. A lover of life, she enjoyed travel, fitness, dancing, and live music with friends and family.

Michelle is predeceased by her brother Dick and is survived by her brothers: Ron and Priscilla, Raymond and Karen, Kevin and Jackie, David and Liz, John and Sue, and Dante. Her sisters: Ann (Birdie), Mary, Resa, and Dick’s wife Pauline.

The family extends sincere gratitude to the providers and staff at the McClure Miller Respite House where Michelle spent her final two months. They made her last journey a comfortable one, and we are deeply appreciative. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in Michelle’s name.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday, June 6th, 2023, at St. Michael’s College Chapel.
