Obituary for Claude "Bud" Hanson
Claude (Bud) Hanson, 85, peacefully passed away on January 10, 2023.
Bud was born on September 7, 1937 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Claude and Rosalind Hanson. He grew up in Damascus, PA where he graduated from the local high school. He entered the Air Force and was stationed at Loring Air Force Base in Maine. Bud then came to Burlington where he married Merilyn Cota and began a career in the USPS. In his free time, Bud enjoyed playing golf and cards, especially cribbage.
Bud is survived by his son Jeff Hanson and his wife Linda of Charlotte, daughters Debbie Belisle of Williston and Terri Lavallee and her husband David of South Burlington. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jonathon, Steven, Justin, Dylan, Elizabeth and Nicole as well as a brother Robert and his wife Patti, and a sister Linda Lawrence and her husband Stanley.
He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Merilyn, brothers John and Fred Hanson, a sister, JoAnne Whitmore and a son in law John Belisle.
