Obituary for Maurice "Moe" Alen Audette

Maurice [Moe] Alen Audette, Father, Grandfather and Korean War Veteran, age 93, passed away Tuesday, November 1st, 2022 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans, Vermont.

He was born in Highgate, Vermont on January 24, 1929, the son of Edward and Rose Audette. He grew up in St. Albans, the youngest of seven children born to Edward and Rose. He served in the Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. He had his own business, Audette Handyman Service in Swanton, Vermont for many years. He lived on his own until March of this year, determined to be self-sufficient for as long as he was able. The last seven months of his life he spent at Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford, Vermont.

He leaves behind, five children, daughter Carol Thompson and husband Paul of Essex Junction, son Larry Audette and wife Deborah Tucker of Westford, daughter Betty Spar and husband Richard of Leland, North Carolina, son Mark Audette and wife Tina of Fairfax and son Jamie Freeman and wife Stacie of Swanton, Vermont. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, sister in law Rita Burns of Essex Junction and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Rose Audette, six siblings, infant daughter Nancy Jean, son Russell Maurice and ex wife Fern Audette.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Our Lady of the Meadows for the respectful and compassionate care provided to Moe. Per Moe’s wishes there will be no public services held at this time. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.
