Obituary for Pierre Yves Beaudoin

Pierre Yves Beaudoin passed away peacefully at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester, VT surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Born July 8, 1939, to Simone (Pare) and Armand Beaudoin, the second of eight children, Pierre spent his early years on the family farm in Ste. Marguerite de Lingwick, helping his father with the farm work. He learned his future career of mechanics by taking apart his father’s brand new tractor, much to his father’s surprise.

He moved to the United States in 1965 but traveled to Canada often and in 1974 he met the love of his life in Sherbrooke. They married the next year, made their home in Colebrook, NH and started their family the year after that. Pierre enjoyed doting on his daughters and worked hard to provide for his family whether as a mechanic at his own shop, or driving a truck or welding. When he wasn’t working, you could find him fishing the many lakes and streams of New Hampshire’s north country.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gisele (Balleux) Beaudoin, his daughters Isabelle and partner Tim St. Pierre and Monique Beaudoin, and his beloved granddaughters Audrey Van Leuven and Cloe Van Leuven. He was brother to the late Armande (Rosaire Lavertu), Maurice, Lise (Ernest L. Carrillo), Rene, the late Jules (Lucie Rousseau), the late Claude (Jacqueline Lapointe) and Suzanne (Richard Cliche). He also leaves behind many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents Simone and Armand, sister Armande Beaudoin, brothers Jules and Claude.

Visiting hour will be Monday, October 10th from 10 to 11am with a memorial to follow at 11am at Jenkins Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook with Father Craig Cheney presiding.

A private inurnment will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.

The family would like to thank the staff at UCVH in Colebrook and the staff at the McClure Miller Respite House for their wonderful care of our stubborn old Frenchman.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Pierre’s name to the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester, VT or to 2 Rivers Ride for Cancer in Colebrook, NH.
