Michael Clarence Doolan, 72, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 14. 2022. Michael was born on July 3, 1949, in Colchester, Vermont, the son of Florence and Maurice Doolan. He grew up in Winooski, Vermont. Michael followed in his father’s footsteps and continued the family business of being a printer. Some would say that Michael had a second job as a taxi driver for his children and grandchildren. He was a very/most selfless man.
On August 12, 1978, Michael married the love of his life, Karen Marie (Knight) Doolan. This August they would have celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary. Together, Michael and Karen raised five children. For many years Michael was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, in Essex. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, going for rides on his motorcycle, and attending his grandchildren's events. Being surrounded by his family is what made him the happiest.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Karen; his children, Aimee Hilliker and husband Mike, Keith Doolan, Charity Doolan-Fuller, Jeremiah Doolan and wife Paige, and Joanna Doolan and boyfriend Vic Stauffenberg. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Nathaniel Gibbs, Aria Hilliker, and Liam Mitchell. In addition, Michael leaves his brother, Daniel Doolan, seven brother-in-laws, and four sister-in-laws. Michael is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his mother and father-in-law, Beatrice and William Knight.
The family would also like to extend a special thanks to all the University of Vermont Medical Center healthcare staff that helped Michael from the start of his accident to the end. To name a few: Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Chason Ziino, Trauma Surgeon Dr. Margaret Tandoh, Orthopedic Resident Dr. Seth Moffatt and a special thanks to all the staff on McClure 3 where Michael spent most of his time.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on May 18, 2022, at 1PM at Calvary Baptist Church in Essex, VT. Inurnment will follow in the family lot in Fairview Cemetery.
