Obituary for Russell Arthur Sweet
Russell lived in Essex Jct. for 60 years and most currently resided in Williston VT. He passed peacefully on April 26th, 2022 at the age of 78.
He was born in Winooski, Vermont on December 30th, 1943 son of the late Geraldine & Leon Sweet.
He leaves his wife, Joanne Sweet, Daughters Stacy Sweet & Tammi Sweet and her wife, Kris Miller, and his Son, Shawn Sweet. Brother Ronald Sweet & wife Donna Sweet, sister Robin Preavy & husband Craig Preavy
Grandchildren: Tianna Sweet, Brittany Sweet, Lily Sweet, Jordan Sweet, Hunter Sweet, Kyle Sweet and Jacob Miller, Great Grandchildren: Carter Sweet, Mia Pfeil, Ayla Boylan, Coasten Sweet, Alice Miller, Chili Sweet-Bijolle, Aurora Sweet-Bijolle and numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.
Russell began his career in the US Navy and then worked for IBM for 30 years. Next he worked for Dominion in Virginia and finally for the TSA in Burlington, VT. Russell loved playing softball, was an avid NASCAR fan, and at one time was on a local pit crew. He was also a Freemason. His greatest joy came from his grand and great grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
A Celebration of Russell’s Life will be held on Saturday, April 30th from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the Community Recreational Center in Williston Woods, 126 Williston Wood Rd, Williston, VT.
