Clifton George Melladew, 94, of Swanton Vermont, passed away peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side on February 1st, 2022. Clifton affectionately called “Red” or “Buster” was born on August 20th 1927 to Clifton Melladew and Sadie Bombard-Melladew. Clifton served in the Pacific Theatre in World War II with the SeaBees. He enjoyed his time outdoors, fishing, spending time with his family and friends, and telling his stories and tales on Hog Island Vermont.
Clifton was predeceased by his wife of 60 years Blanche Eardley-Melladew and his two sons Stephen Melladew and Michael Melladew. He is survived by his children Clifton Melladew, James Melladew, and Deborah Melladew-Pellegrini her husband Alan Pellegrini and two grandchildren Alison Pellegrini and Sara Pellegrini.
