Obituary for Edward Clark Young
Edward Clark Young, 90 of Williston, VT. passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. Edward was born on March 4, 1931 in Stowe VT. He was one of 12 children born to Harold Francis Sr. and Bessie Young. The family moved to Richmond in 1939 where he attended Richmond High School before joining the United States Air Force in 1950 as a Medical Technician. Ed married the love of his life, Carol Ann Larrow on July 30, 1955 in Hartford, CT. Ed worked as a supervisor at Pratt & Whitney Aerospace in East Hartford, CT. for 33 years before retiring in Williston, VT. He was a member of the Chittenden County Fish and Game Club and enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and woodworking. The most important thing to him was spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all those who had the privilege to know him.
Ed is survived by his children: David Young and wife Melanie of Tolland, CT., Gary Young and wife Patricia of Enfield CT., Paul Young and wife Barbara of Williston VT., Paula Shooner and husband Jeff of Somers, CT.; 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; his brothers: Harold Young Jr., Larry Young and wife Charlene, Raymond Young and wife Jean; his sister, Pat Thibodeau; his sister-in-law, Audrey Larrow; and many nieces and nephews. Ed also leaves behind Opal Geno, his best friend and partner for the past 14 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Carol in 2007, his brothers Richard, Fred and Robert; his sisters Dorothy, Ruth, Beverly and Romona.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at A W Rich Funeral Home – Essex Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Williston Federated Church at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Gary Lewis officiating. Burial will be announced and held in the spring at the convenience of the family where full military honors will be accorded.
