Norma Jean Lavigne, age 80 of Alburgh passed away Wednesday December 8 at her home with family by her side. She was born July 26, 1941 in Swanton. Norma was the daughter of the late Carl and Dora (Thibault) Hemingway of Swanton, Vermont.
She leaves behind her daughters Peggy McGowan of Essex, Lori Bullard of Swanton and Kimberly Hallock of Barre. She also is survived by her siblings Shirley Devaney of Swanton, Milton Hemingway of East Montpelier, Linda Kelley and David Hemingway both of Swanton. She also leaves behind a special grandson Robert Longway and his wife Sandra of Swanton who cared for their Gram through the end of her life. Also many grandchildren, nephews, nieces and great grandchildren including Adilynn, Paislee, and Lincoln Longway whom she loved spending time with. She also leaves behind her two beloved dogs Mickey and Baby.
She enjoyed working for a time at Milton Bradley and Buxton Wallets. Although her true calling and passion was dedicated to being a homemaker, caretaker, wife, and mom. Most will remember Norma by her sharp tongue, loud honesty, and quick wit.
Norma was predeceased by her parents Carl and Dora, her wonderful husband Steven H Lavigne, and her dearest daughter Robin Amaral earlier this year.
