Obituary for Sharon Jean (LaBombard) Dulude

Alburgh - Born in Portland, ME to Roswell LaBombard and Lois (Craft) LaBombard on April 10, 1953 and living most of her life in Isle La Motte and Alburgh, VT, Sharon’s battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer came to an end on October 4th, 2021 while at home with her husband and children lovingly by her side.

Sharon attended Isle La Motte Elementary school as a child, studying in a two-room schoolhouse, then later attending Alburgh High School. She held various positions throughout life, with the most important and rewarding one being an at-home mother and wife to her five children and husband.

On a beautiful Valentine’s Day in 1992, with her two oldest sons and three younger children by her side, Sharon married her best friend and soulmate, Steven (Steve) Dulude of Alburgh, VT. Sharon had met Steve in 1976, and knew without a doubt that she had fallen in love and wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. Together they built a beautiful and loving home by the lake where they raised their children and watched them grow.

Known as “Umma” or “Grandma Sharon” to her grandkids, Sharon went on to have nine beautiful grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, with whom she adored deeply. She loved each and every one of them, spending time with them on the shores of Lake Champlain, picking up a creemie, or simply playing with them on the floor. She believed each of them were special people and took great pride in them all. Sharon had a kind soul and a warm heart, making sure others were cared for before herself.

Sharon often enjoyed reading a good book, and could devour a novel in no time. She also found joy in bringing in her beloved hummingbirds, admiring their tiny, yet bold personalities. Sharon also loved the outdoors, especially summertime, and enjoyed a good day of fishing. Sharon was a great fisherwoman! Throughout the years, Sharon’s love for the water blossomed into trips to the shores of Maine, and long stays near the beaches of Florida. She spent many seasons vacationing with her mother and sister, treasuring each visit and collecting seashell souvenirs along the way. Mornings filled with coffee dates and long conversations with her lifelong friends was something that Sharon often enjoyed. Cooking was her specialty, which she did with love in every meal. Sharon also developed a love for muscle cars, and owned many throughout the years. Church services at the “Old Stone Church” were also something that Sharon looked forward to, especially around the holidays.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Steven Dulude of Alburgh; their children; Chad Park of Alburgh, Shannon Oliver and her husband, Joshua (Josh) of Mooers, NY, Shawn Dulude of Alburgh, and Sarah Noble of Isle La Motte, VT; grandchildren, Damian Bigelow, Jacob and Adam Park, Ryan, Haley, and Andrew Oliver, Emily, Owen, and Scarlette Noble; great-grandchildren, Abigail and Alleah Bigelow, and William Knox; mother, Lois Cameron, mother-in-law, Brenda Dulude; daughter-in-law, Sara Jerry-Park; step-siblings, Timothy, Christopher, and Jeffrey Cameron, and Carla Cameron Langlois; and nephew, Trevor Marshall.

Sharon was predeceased by her father, Roswell LaBombard; son, Dale Park; sister, Linda Bachelder; father-in-law, John P. Dulude; and step-father, Ralph Cameron.

A private ceremony will be held at the Isle La Motte Methodist Church in the memorial garden, as per Sharon’s request. For those who wish, contributions in Sharon’s memory may be made to The United Methodist Church, PO Box 152, Isle La Motte, VT 05463.
