Obituary for Janet Marie (Tew) Towne
Janet Marie (Tew) Towne, 69, of Essex Junction passed away on September 19, 2021 at UVM Medical Center. Janet was born on December 14, 1951 in Gulfport, Mississippi.
On August 5, 1971 Janet married the love of her life and best friend, Bruce Towne. Janet and Bruce celebrated their 50th Anniversary on August 5, 2021.
Janet is survived by her husband, Bruce, and their son Andrew (and Shelly), beloved "fur-baby" Bella, her siblings Joy (and Bill), Jewel (and Jerry), Steven (and Kerri), Mary Jo, Bobbi (and Gary), Rebecca (and Gene), James, Laurie and her many nieces, nephews and cousins who she held dear to her heart, as well as her cherished Uncle Paul and Aunt Allison.
Janet never met a person she didn't like as you can tell by the many, many friends who she stayed in contact with for all these many years. She treasured quality time with/and love for all her family and friends. She was such a blessing and inspiration to all those who met her; a real ray of sunshine who will always light up our hearts.
Janet was a dedicated LNA. She believed that patients should be treated as though they were her own grandparents and countless patients benefited from her compassion and loving care. Janet was excited by history, traveling, photography, Vermont covered bridges, music, crafting, walking on the beach when she could find one, and nature in all its forms.
She is predeceased by Patricia and Houston Tew and Robert and Lydia Towne.
Per Janet's wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The ALS Association Northern New England Chapter, PO Box 207, Concord, NH 03302-0207.
