Obituary for Donald O. Knerr

Donald O. Knerr, 88, passed away Monday July 26, 2021 at his home in Fairfax, Vermont while on hospice care. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, July 30th at A. W. Rich Funeral Home in Fairfax, Vermont. Per his wishes cremation rites will follow the funeral. His ashes will be taken at a later date to his families cemetery in Avery, Wisconsin with a private family memorial.

Donald was born on February 21, 1933, in Hammond, Indiana. The son of Esther R. and Owen Knerr. He held a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and a Masters in Management from the Navy Post Graduate School in Monterey, California. He entered the Navy in June, 1954 retiring March 1, 1979 as a U.S. Navy Commander.

He was married to Yvonne C. Knerr of Fairfax, Vermont who survives him. Also surviving him are his two sons, Eric O. Knerr (Melissa) of McAllen, Texas and Jon W. Knerr (Bryan Kern) of Seattle, Washington. Step-daughter, Dana D. Jenisch, (John) of Jeffersonville, Vermont. Two grandsons Alex Ander Knerr of Lacey, Washington, Christopher Knerr of San Antonio, Texas, step granddaughter Emily Williger (Brett) of Williston, Vermont and Ashley Daugreilh (Charles Guyette) of Jeffersonville, Vermont. Several step-great grandchildren. His sister Arlene, Gardow of Cleveland, Tennessee also survives him. His first wife Muriel Jean Koḣler and mother of his sons was deceased in 1987.
