Obituary for Jacqueline Grace (Hatin) Ackel
Jacqueline Grace (Hatin) Ackel, 84 years old joined our dearly departed early Sunday morning on July 18, 2021. Her loving family surrounded her both physically and spiritually the night before in a celebration of life and family love, which allowed her to move peacefully into her next journey.
In her early years Jackie was gifted with a voice that was distinctly memorable and beautiful. For years, she sang at many Masses, Weddings and Funerals in Winooski, VT and to larger audiences in Montreal and New York City. Her family took over the space that music occupied in her heart and soul. Her happiness elevated when surrounded by the chaos of that loving family group.
Jackie is survived by her husband of 65 years Richard Ackel, daughter-Deb Bilodeau (Tim), son-Randall Ackel (Denise), sister-Blanche Schtupah, grandchildren/partners-Laura Bilodeau (Matt Renaud), Mark Bilodeau (Jessica), Katie Bilodeau (Ryan Kluk), Brandon Ackel (Meredith), RJ Ackel (Evgenia), Daniel Ackel (Vashe Beechinor), Nathan Ackel (Charlene), Nicholas Ackel (Kesley), great grandchildren/partners-Dakota Bilodeau (Jacob Toro), Mason Bilodeau, Brianna Ackel, Alexander Ackel and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her mother-Exilda (Fortin) Hatin, father-Albert Hatin, sister-Claire Fregeau and son Rick Ackel.
A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held on Saturday, August 28th, 2021, 1:00pm-4:00pm at the American Legion Post #91, 3650 Roosevelt Hwy, Colchester, VT 05446. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Association of the Blind, American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
