Shawn Thomas Patrick, 49, of Williston, Vermont, passed away unexpectedly after a long battle with Multiple System Atrophy on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at The University of Vermont Medical Center. He was born on May 8, 1971, in Burlington VT, the son of Gene Patrick and Julie Green.
Shawn graduated from Mount Mansfield Union High School in 1989. He received an Associate in Engineering degree from Vermont Technical College in 1992 and in 2005 he earned a Bachelor of Science in computer networking at Champlain College.
His career began at IBM where he worked for 9 years and at Systems and Software, in Williston, Vermont for many years as a Systems Administrator.
Shawn’s daughters were most important to him and he loved them dearly. He was an amazing and dedicated father. He enjoyed spending time with his girls and watching them grow into the strong beautiful young women they are today. He was so proud of them both. He enjoyed teaching them to ski, wakeboard and hunt. They spent time together camping and traveling. Over the years the family traveled to Disney, Colorado, Key West and the Dominican Republic as well as annual trips to Cape Cod.
Shawn had a love for the outdoors throughout his life, which included boating, water skiing, wakeboarding, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding and hunting. He was a movie buff and in his later years enjoyed watching movies with his daughters and sister Jen. Shawn was a true Vermonter, he loved anything and everything Maple. He always looked forward to spending time at the family camp in Montgomery and the annual guys trip there. Shawn was a strong and kind man who was loved by everyone who ever had the honor of spending time with him. His friends and his family were his life.
He is survived by his loving daughters Madison and Makenna and their mother Danielle (Gibeault) Patrick of Williston, VT. Mother, Julie Green (Ronald Green) of Huntington, VT; father, Gene Patrick of Richmond, VT; sister, Jennifer Patrick of Essex, VT; brother, Keith Ermolovich of Colchester, VT; step brother, Scott Green (Denise Green) of Waterbury, VT; step sister, Rachel Green of Lyndon, VT; uncle, Al Jarvis (Sandy Jarvis) of Essex, VT; aunt, Amy Roy (Mike Roy) of Colchester, VT; aunt, Nancy Crowley of South Hero, VT; many loving cousins, The Gibeault Family, including, nieces and nephews, and a loving crew of long-time friends. He will be deeply missed by everyone.
He was predeceased by his Grandparents Dealton and Rachel Jarvis, and Thomas and Norma Patrick, his Uncle Lou Jarvis, and his Uncle Gerritt Crowley.
A private service is planned for Saturday, May 8, 2021, Shawn’s 50th birthday, followed by a celebration of life, open to all, at 2:30 at Catamount Country Club in Williston.
