South Burlington, Vermont - Lorraine Ann (Desilets) Bleau, 79, Passed away peacefully with limited family by her side due to the pandemic, Monday, March 15, 2021, at Birchwood Terrace Rehab and Health Care.
Lorraine was born in Burlington on July 24, 1941, to the late Henry & Marie (Boucher) Desilets.
Lorraine attended Cathedral High School in Burlington, VT. On July 25, 1959, she married the love of her life, William J. Bleau Jr. Although she worked in many career fields, one of her favorites was starting her own business “Dizzy’s Grinders” which were local favorites and survived for many years. Lorraine spent the majority of her employment in manufacturing at Resolution as a supervisor. She also spent most of her adult life as a caregiver to her family. Lorraine enjoyed cooking for family and friends, especially our traditional family meals. her last job was cooking at Grand Way Commons for the residents. Lorraine and Bill were avid campers and met so many wonderful friends throughout those years.
Above all, Lorraine always put her family first. Her warmth, strength of character, and work ethic were among the things that defined her. She was nurturing, kind, supportive, and a sympathetic ear to not only her family, but to everyone that was close to her. Her late husband Bill would often refer to her as a Saint, and it was hard to argue with that if you knew her.
Lorraine is survived by her sons Bill and his wife Linda of Essex Jct., Mike and his wife Marie of Colchester, and Chris and his wife Lillie of Essex Jct.
She is survived by siblings: Marie Dion of Bristol, Claudette Kosa of So. Burlington, and Henry and his wife Alice of Essex Jct., and sister-in-law Sandra Bleau of So. Burlington.
Survived by seven grandchildren, Billy Bleau and his wife Ashley, Michael Bleau and his fiancé’ Danielle, Christina Bleau, Jennifer Bleau, Andrew Bleau, Catie Bleau, Iggy Bleau
Survived by 8 great grandchildren: Ethan, Evan, Jaxon, Aubrey, Davis, Elijah, Carter, and Bodhi as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins and her “baby” dog Cuddles.
Besides her parents, Lorraine is predeceased by her beloved husband, William “Bill”, Brothers Alcide, Robert, Rene, Wilfred “Dizzy” and Maurice as well as brothers in law Phil Kosa, Douglas Dion, and sister-in-law Marion Desilets.
At Lorraine’s request, there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St John Vianney Church on Saturday, March 20, 2021at 1:00 p.m in accordance with social distancing and current COVID guidelines. Inurnment will take place this Spring at the family’s convenience at Resurrection Park Cemetery.
