Gary A. Cutler, 66, of Essex Junction passed away on Monday February 15, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Born June 3, 1954 to Charlotte and Marcus Cutler, he enjoyed an early childhood in Montpelier before moving to Burlington at the age of 12. Gary graduated from Burlington High School in 1972, and immediately joined New England Telephone where he worked his entire career before retiring from Verizon in 1998.
Gary married his high school sweetheart Janel Beaulieu on March 2, 1974 at Saint Joseph's Church in Burlington and they went on to raise two children.
After retirement, Gary enjoyed researching family genealogy and studying the stock market. He was very proud to be an 8th generation Vermonter. Gary had a sharp mind and a great sense of humor that carried him through his final days.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Janel; son Matthew Cutler and his wife Patricia; daughter Jade Cutler; father Marcus Cutler; brother Douglas Cutler; and sisters Cynthia Fuller and Annemarie Cutler.
As well as a large extended family which he treasured.
He was predeceased by his mother Charlotte in November 2020.
At this time, services will be held at the discretion of the family at a later date.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ades and his team at the UVM Medical Center department of Oncology and the team at UVM Home Health and Hospice specifically nurses Sandra and Susan for their compassionate care that was provided to Gary and his family.
