Obituary for Paul Joseph Baker

Paul Joseph Baker, 53, died Wednesday, February 10, 2021 after an extended hospitalization due to complications from a stroke. Sadly, due to Covid visitor restrictions his loved ones were not in attendance.

Paul was born at the UVM Medical Center on November 11, 1967 the son of Robert and Yvonne (Raymond) Baker of Essex Junction, Vt. He attended the Essex Junction schools and graduated from Essex Junction High School in 1986. Paul maintained longstanding friendships with many of his childhood school friends throughout his life. Paul worked in the propane business for many years as a CDL driver and took great pride and joy in serving his customers and community. He especially enjoyed the many years working for Stevens Gas and the close friends he made while working there.

Paul was an incredibly caring and generous person who would gladly help anyone at any time. His greatest joys were spending time with friends and family and sharing stories of his many adventures. He was an excellent cook and loved to entertain, BBQ, and have bonfires. Paul enjoyed being outdoors with nature, snowmobiling, motorcycling, or riding his ATV. Paul was a train enthusiast and had an extensive train collection. Music was part of Paul’s every fiber and covered many genres. He loved all animals especially his cats and dog.

His survivors include his beloved wife Michelle of 16 years, his Mom Yvonne (Raymond) Baker and Dad Robert Joseph Baker. His Aunt Marie Cibotti of Vero Beach, FL, two brothers, Francis Paul Baker of Essex and Stephen Anthony (Priscilla) Baker also of Essex. Two nieces Theresa Baker of Dorchester, MA and Jessica Baker (Josh Tuure) of Essex. Also, two great nephews James Olson and Joseph Tuure. In addition, Paul was predeceased by his uncle Jim Cibotti and his aunt Regina Raymond.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church on Saturday February 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family also invites you to share your memories and condolences by visiting
