Obituary

Underhill - Bernard William Kellner 49 left this world unexpectedly on January 5th, 2021.

Barky, as his family and many friends called him was born October 31st, 1971 in Burlington Vermont to Dr Stephan M. E. Kellner and Jane Octavia Bogue Kellner lifelong residents of Underhill.

Barky Graduated from MMU in 1989 and afterward he attended St Michaels college and Champlain college. He was an avid golfer and truly a “Jack of all trades”. Some of his talents included painter, fine wood worker, gardener, fisherman and musician.

Never at a loss for words, he was quick to tell a joke… sometimes a bad one… but he wanted people to laugh. He cared deeply about family and friends and he would, as the saying goes “Give You the Shirt off His Back”. If you needed something, Barky was there.

Bernard is pre-deceased by his mother Jane and brother Michael. He is survived by his father Stephan, his brother Paul and wife Karen, brother Mark, brother Theodore and his wife Denise, sister Mary Jane Kreps and husband Mathew, sister Elizabeth Machia and husband David, sister Margaret Gardner and Husband Brett, sister Monica and partner Mike Trepanier, sister Christine Morse and husband Bill, brother Christopher, sister Julie, brother John and wife Christen. Barky is also survived by 23 nieces and nephews.

Barky will be missed dearly and the family will be announcing a Celebration of Life this spring. In lieu of flowers please plant a flower or tree in memory of Barky. The family also invites you to share your memoires and condolences by visiting awrfh.com.

Although I have not seen Bernard in many years, I will always remember him as a kind and thoughtful man. We worked many hours together at Jana's in Jeffersonville, always with a smile and a laugh. I remember the first time he held a golf club, it was winter but he didn't care, just wanted to learn to play. So glad he came to enjoy the game! My deepest sympathies go out to the entire family. When I remember BK it will always be with a smile.

My thoughts and prayers and condolences go out to the entire Kellner family. Bernard was always friendly and engaging to talk with and certainly willing to lend a hand. Not to mention he had the best jokes (LOL). God bless.

I want to send my condolences to the Keller family for the loss of Barky. I enjoyed my time with him at BRMS and he was a good addition to my class. I know how close he was to his siblings and it has to be a hard time for all. Please know that all of you are very good memories to me. Tom Carney

Deeply saddened to hear of Bernard's passing...he was far too young. It's a bit of a comfort to know Mama Jane was there to greet him. May your wonderful memories help you through this difficult time. Jennifer Varin

Barkey was a sweet and thoughtful man. When ever he saw us it was with a handshake, a hug and a big smile. We will miss his smiling face when we visit Vermont. RIP sweet Bernard. Love Barry and Joan Burnor
