Middlebury - Donald N. Fonseca, 61 passed away at UVM Medical Center, November 5,2020 after a brief illness.

He was born on April 24,1959 in Brunswick, Maine to Robert and June (Love) Fonseca.

Don graduated from Essex High School. Through his high school years he was always very active in baseball and basketball. After High School he attended Castleton College, he then went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force. Don left the military after 6 years with the rank of Sergeant. His next adventure took him to Middlebury where he owned and operated Mountain Fresh Laundromat. His last adventure was driving school bus which was a delight for him as he always loved little children

Some of his favorite things throughout his life that he enjoyed was bowling and he was an avid fisherman (his license plate read wet a line). Sports in general was his passion... playing ball or fishing with his partners children and grandchildren always brightened his day.

He was enthusiastic about Halloween & Christmas, his passion was decorating for the holidays
always to the extreme. Don enjoyed shopping for Christmas gifts, always made you feel that he put so much thought into every gift. Those memories will live on in our hearts

Don leaves behind to cherish his memories: his partner in best friend Pat (Jeanne) Maheu, of
Middlebury. Her children, Lisa Quesnel of New Jersey, Michael, Justin and Matt of Virginia.
Also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His father Robert Fonseca & wife Linda of Essex Jct. (her children Robert & Ann of Virginia, Timothy & Lynn Curran of Maine & grandchildren) a brother Bobby Fonseca of Colchester, his daughter Elizabeth of Colchester and Jake of Georgia. Brother-in-law David Thibault of Colchester, Justin, Amanda Thibault (Roger Collins) & Paul Dartt of Pa. Also sharing the loss is a cousin Jennifer in Massachusetts and his Aunt's in Canada Bette and Sharon.

He is preceded in death by his Mother June (Love) Fonseca and sister Joann Thibault. Also his grandparents on both sides of the family. We mustn't forget his very faithful dog Zeke.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to your local food shelves. Thank you in advance for your thoughtfulness.

I played basketball with him at EJHS. Terrific guy! Sad to hear of his passing at a young age. His sister Joanne was in my graduating class. Sorry to hear of her passing as learned in Don's obituary. May they both rest in peace.
