Charles “Charlie” H. Roff, 77, of Chazy, NY (formerly of Williston, VT) passed away on October 25, 2020 at UVMMC surrounded by his family. He was born in Tivoli, NY, son of the late Raymond and Annie (Holroyd) Roff. He graduated from Red Hook Central School and Dutchess College – SUNY. He then worked at IBM for 39 years in various finance and engineering managerial roles. He always appreciated his coworkers and the special friends he made there.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Nancy Roff; his daughter Kim Zehnacker, son-in-law Jon, granddaughters Kiera and Lauren; and daughter Heather Lamson, son-in-law Chris, grandsons Cody and Dylan. Dear to his heart also were his “grand dogs” Nike and Daisy. He enjoyed every treasured moment with his family and good friends.
Charlie loved sports, fast cars, fast boats, boating poker runs, taking engines apart and rebuilding them, hunting with his son-in-law and friends, cutting trees in his Williston woods, riding his tractor while caring for his long driveway, snowmobiling in the mountains, and travelling with his wife and family. A couple of his favorite sayings were “There is no replacement for displacement” and “All is good”. He was always very active in his church serving as a junior and senior warden several times, on the building and grounds committee, and on the board at Rock Point Episcopal Diocese of VT. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Essex Junction, VT for many years and most recently of Christ St John's Episcopal Church in Champlain, NY. His church family was always important to him.
His family wants to thank the entire caring staff at Maple Ridge Memory Care, Essex, VT and the outstanding thoughtful care provided by the Baird 4 staff at UVMMC during his final days.
Due to Covid precautions, a private service for immediate family will be held and a celebration of life service for family and friends will be scheduled in the Spring 2021.
