Walter has been a part of my cottage life since I can remember. Gertrude was our first Allen neighbor on the lake, and then Walter and his wonderful family. This is the first summer without Walter and I miss him. His personality is still here though ... in the fishing stories, the "history of the lake" stories, and the family stories. No one can tell them like he can, and I will always have a special spot in my heart for him, and I will not watch a college game, a fish jump in the water, or a fishing boat on the lake without thinking of him.

Some of my best memories will always center around bullheading in Deyo’s bay and the old stories of times best. Thank you Susan.

where to start? 5 years old and seeing Gertrude in a boat powering a 9.9 towards KOA in the rain for groceries on Desert Lake. Salt of the earth folks. Walt was everybody's friend. Loved to talk Lehigh sports and....well any sports really. I grew up with Nicole and Randy at Desert lake and they are all part of my childhood memories. Our kids are starting to become friends now. Every year, i'd walk over to see Walt and have a beer or 2. We'd talk about the lake, sports and collecting things. Cherished those times - although now realizing how special they were. Our families are deeply interconnected. Will miss him and his booming laugh. Rest well sir. The Mills Family, Syracuse.
