Obituary for Madine (Sweeney) Robinson

Madine Robinson age 79 passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at the McClure Miller Respite House after a short illness with family by her side.

Madine was born in St. Albans,VT on February 28, 1941 to Frederick Sweeney and Virginia (Ladue) Sweeney. Madine grew up in St. Albans during the Elvis craze and she was a big fan. She was able to see him in concert in Lakeland Florida with her 2 daughters in 1976. Her other passions included reading, especially Danielle Steele novels and worked many a word search puzzle. She also loved watching TV especially The Price is Right and Food Network.

Madine did not complete her high school education until her own children were in school when she returned and earned her GED, something she was very proud of. Madine lived in Plant City and Dade City Florida for many years; where she met and married her second husband David Robinson in 1979. She returned to Vermont to be closer to her family. Prior to her retirement, Madine worked at York Capictator In Winooski Vermont for 17 years.

Madine leaves behind David, her husband of 41 years; her three children, Bonnie Webb and her husband Ronald of Fairfax, VT, Wayne Gabaree of North Carolina and Vicki Sibley of Isle LaMotte, VT. She had nine grandchildren; Courtney, Lindsey, Jean, Contessa, DiMeara, Travis, Dana-Lynn, Matthew and Torry, and numerous great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her 2 cats Missy Lou and Jimmy who were her constant companions.

She was predeceased by her parents, her first husband Jean Gabaree, her son-in-law Carl Sibley, her daughter-in-law, Dana Gabaree and her grandson, Ryan Webb.

The family would like to thank the staff at the McClure Miller Respite House for their excellent care of our mother during her illness. The family also thanks the staff at A.W.Rich Funeral Home for their assistance.
