Obituary for Hildegarde M. "Hilly" Bolsterle

Burlington - Hilly passed on Monday, June 29th, 2020. She was born in Plainfield, NJ in March of 1927 to Ada and August Bostreom.

She was a wonderfully generous woman with a dimpled smile that could bring a lightness into any situation, adored by her husband Gilbert and deeply loved by her two children as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Hilly loved music, played piano, the organ and sang in the choir at her church. She loved art, playing cards and getting together with her friends to socialize. She worked for U.V.M. in the psychology department as a secretary for many years and she could type more than 100 w.p.m. with two fingers. Her pet while working there was a 7 ft long boa constrictor named “Sammy,” whom she kept in her office for many years. Mom lost her best friend, Gilbert, on March 19th, 2020 and had difficulty accepting that loss, having been married for 73 years.

She leaves her daughter Gretchen of Westford, her son Eric of Burlington and his cat Dusty, her seven nieces and nephews in New Jersey, her special friend Linda Parks of Williston as well as Gilbert’s cousin Susan Bolsterle. She also leaves her granddaughter Dayna of Essex Jct. as well as great grandchildren Aaron, Kyle, Jakob, Aurora, Dustin Broe and Madison Fortin and her new great-great grandson Aaron Jr.

She was also predeceased by her sister Betty and a great grandson Justin.

There are no funeral plans at this time per her request.
