Obituary for Kathy Ann Germain (Thompson)
On Sunday, April 19, 2020, Kathy Germain, beautiful wife and mother, broke the bonds of earth to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ forever. She was at her home in Williston surrounded by her husband, Don, and their three children, Josh, Tia, and Jesse.
She was born Kathy Ann Thompson to Allen and Betty Thompson on December 28, 1961. She graduated from Milton High School and was co-valedictorian with her twin sister Kelly. She received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Vermont. Through much hard work, she passed the CPA exam and practiced accounting throughout her career. She dedicated twenty-eight years of that career working at Lake Champlain Chocolates - much of which was spent as their CFO. She was well-respected in her field and well-spoken of by her coworkers and the professionals she interacted with. She made year end accounting much easier for the firm providing the services. Total precision and attention to detail was what she was all about. She also worked at A. M. Peisch and Company, Bombardier, and Pine Ridge School.
Kathy met her husband Don in 1986 at Community Bible Church where they both attended. They were married in 1988 and started a family in 1992 with the addition of their first child, Josh. They had two more children shortly thereafter, Tia and Jesse. Kathy loved her children dearly and was always very proud of them.
Kathy was a kind, loving, generous, and caring person who had the ability to see the best in everyone. She was quiet and easy-going and she would never sweat the small stuff. She had a peaceful spirit and a beautiful heart. Kathy was also a highly motivated woman with a can-do attitude and an eye for perfection.
Kathy enjoyed doing puzzles and could complete the most complicated ones with little frustration. She also had a very artistic side. When the kids were small, Kathy would make the most meticulously decorated birthday cakes. She could also draw and sculpt amazingly well but was always modest about her talents.
Kathy loved flowers and gardening, and the many gardens on their property showed her dedication. She planned these gardens so that something was always in bloom during spring, summer, and fall. She loved the beauty of nature and appreciated the One who created it all.
Kathy was a strong dedicated person and a good friend as well. She had a big beautiful smile and a heart of gold. She loved God and the things of God. She became a born-again Christian as a young adult, and she and Don tried to raise their children with Christ at the center. They believed what the Bible said, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it".
Kathy clung to her Heavenly Father until the very end. She passed into Glory with dignity and peace. We only wish we could have done more to help her stay with us longer. There is a void in our home where we can picture beautiful shadows of her from the past. Our hearts, though broken, are bonded with a connection that will last a lifetime and into eternity. She is still a part of us, and we are a part of her.

We love you, we miss you, and we can’t wait to be with you again when our journey here is over.
