Bryan Paul Gratton, age 53, passed away in the early hours of Friday, March 6, 2020 at UVM Medical Center.
Bryan was born to Remi and Rhona (Boivin) Gratton on June 16, 1966 in Burlington, VT. He graduated from Rice Memorial High School in 1984 and then went on to graduate from Champlain College and Emerson College.
While living in Florida, Bryan was a tireless civil rights activist with Equality Florida for 10 years, working for equal marriage rights and fair housing.
He is survived by his husband, David Perreault. After being partners for 20 years, Bryan and David were married on September 22, 2018. He also leaves behind his father, Remi Gratton, Jr., of South Burlington, VT; siblings, Remi III of Montgomery, VT, Jeff and his wife Pam of Georgia, VT, Dana and his husband Vince Samek of Richmond, VA, Leanne and her husband Edward Crewdson of Jeffersonville, VT, and Pamela of Essex Junction, VT; his nephews and niece, Tyler Arbour of Madisonville, LA, Kelsey Douglas of Portland, OR, Shea Douglas of Fort Collins, CO, and Ethan Gratton of Georgia, VT. He will be greatly missed by his beloved dog, Ella. Bryan was predeceased by his mother in 1997.
A memorial service will be held at a later date for family and friends.
