Obituary for Michael Earle Rich

Swanton - Michael Earle Rich, 39, passed away tragically as a hero saving his friends life following a snowmobiling accident on the Missisquoi River in Highgate on Monday, January 20, 2020. He was born on August 23, 1980 son of Susan O’dell and the late Ronald Rich.

He loved his boys so much he was the best Dad. You could always find him playing with them, riding four wheeler’s or dirt bikes, playing baseball or basketball. He lived his life fearlessly. He died a hero, but has always been mine. He died to soon.

Michael is survived by the Love of His Life and fiancée Misti-Lyn Morin of Swanton, sons Colby Hakey Tabor Rich, Hayden Rich and Jackson Rich all of Swanton, Thomas Machia who he loved like a son of St. Albans, of Franklin, mother Susan O’Dell of St. Albans, a loving grandmother Anita Morin of St. Albans, a brother Todd Rich and wife Denise of Texas, two sisters Tammy Rich and Robert Greenia of New York, Karen Ric of Florida, nephews Connor Rich-Greenia of New York, Zachary Rich of Texas, niece Oliva Rich of Texas, two special cousins Travis Rich of Fairfield, Jeremy O’Dell and fiancée Jessica Corrigan of St. Albans and many friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday February 1, 2020 from noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m. at United Church of Fairfax with Reverend Katherine Arthaud officiating. A reception will be held following the service downstairs at the VFW, 8 Merchants Row, Swanton. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
