Jessie (Huntley) Pecor, 84, passed away at her Jeffersonville home on December 31, 2019 with her family at her side. Jessie was born in Morrisville, Vermont on March 18, 1935, the oldest of two children born to the late Russell and Helen (Fairbanks) Huntley.

Jessie attended schools in Cambridge, Vermont, attended college part-time and married the late Robert Wayne Pecor in October, 1953, and soon after started a family. Following many years of employment at both the Howard Bank and the South Burlington School District, Jessie eventually focused her energy into her passion for knitting and spinning and opened up Knitters Nook. Over the years, Jessie was actively involved in a variety of knitting, spinning and weaving groups including Twisted O’Wool Guild, Fifth Wheel Spinners, Spa-Neta, The Braidy Bunch and Strands and became an extremely talented artist. She taught knitting/spinning classes, sold her wares at craft fairs throughout the northeast and just last summer was awarded 1st place in a knitting competition at the Addison County Fair. And there was always a multitude of hand knitted/felted/woven Christmas gifts for her children and grandchildren over the years. Jessie was also a long-standing member of the Cemetery Committee in Jeffersonville.

Jessie was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Robert Wayne Pecor on May 10, 2008 and her son Mark Pecor of Jeffersonville on March 2, 2008. She is survived by her children, Wayne (Katie) Pecor, of Burlington, Dale (Colleen) Pecor of South Burlington and Marlalynn Pecor of Jeffersonville, Vt. She is survived by her grandchildren, Jacob, Sarah, Caitlin and Conor Pecor and Emily, Alina and Sophie DeCarolis and 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother David Huntley of Sheldon, VT and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday January 11, 2020, 1-4pm at A.W. Rich Funeral Home - Fairfax Chapel, Fairfax, VT. A graveside service will be private at the convenience of the family. I, too, am a member of the Braidy Bunch and thank Linda Rexford for inviting me to join this wonderful group of gifted ladies. Jessie was special to me - her talent, sense of humor, twinkle in her eye, her Vermont frankness, and many more attributes. I have wonderful memories of going to Maine with her, Route 25 A, B, or C the whole way. I thought we would never get there but she knew the route by heart. No map for her. It's pretty darn cold in Freeport in January! She will be dearly missed.

I, too, am a member of the Braidy Bunch. I will miss her very much. I loved her Vermont sense of humor, the twinkle in her eye and her ability to help me fix my knitting problems over the phone! She won't be far away; she helps me scrub my pots and pans, helps me find my car keys and even helped me decorate my Christmas tree. I'm so thankful to have known her.

Jessie has been a friend and mentor for over twenty years. We belonged in a spinning guild early on and more recently in the remarkable Braidy Bunch. It was Jess I turned to when I didn't quite understand a new knitting term or wanted an opinion on the degree of difficulty of a pattern. She was always encouraging . The Braidy Bunch have been getting together going on 14 years and as you read in Jan's posting we have created a wonderful bond and extensive number of great memories. I will always be glad that the .paths of our lives crossed
