I enjoyed seeing the family on Saturday, the set up was just what Hugh would have wanted: the Scout; the hat, cup, and Awards. Also the pictures and political memories were all GREAT to see. It was an emotional day for me because I have known Hugh since 1964 when we sold him his first Scout. It was $2,804.00 brand new! We allowed him $404.00 for his Jeep trade in and traded for $2,404.00. From that point on we sold Hugh and Myrna a total of 17 vehicles, mostly Scouts. He and Myrna are now in Heaven and we will all see them again someday. R.I.P. my friend, my thoughts and prayers are with Dean, Teal, Thad, Jody, and all the family. Life goes on and we have the GREAT MEMORIES.

Hugh Tallman was one of the great ones in my life who I loved to talk to. I have many memories of Hugh one night I pulled into the store to get some things for camp and he was splitting wood with his wood splitter and he waved and yelled out something that I thought was hello, I went into the store and got the items and talked with Miss Tallman like I always called her and then I went out the door to get in my truck to go back to camp and Hugh yelled out and waved so I walked over to him and come to find out his finger was caught in the wood splitter and the shut off was at the other end!!!!!! I shut the machine off and took him to Copley to get his finger fixed! I sat there with him until his son Thad showed and said I bet you won't do that again! we all laughed. His love of Belvidere was second to none and his love of politics was also second to none I would bring him signs when he would call and he would put them out all by himself,,,I have many other stories but it would take forever ,,,,,,,RIP Mr T and now you will be with Miss Tallman driving her nuts.

I grew up in Belvidere. I have memories of Hugh going up and down the road in his bucket loader, dump truck or Scout. I remember him at the store, family gatherings, parades and other functions.

Hugh was the Chair of the Lamoille County Republican Committee for many years. He saw to it that all the towns were organized, a high standard and tradition that Lamoille County holds today, Hugh felt it was a worthwhile outreach to have a GOP booth at Lamoille County Field Days. I can see Hugh now visiting with the many county folks that I am especially grateful to Hugh and Myrna for encouraging me as I became more involved with the party. Hugh and I had many talks on our way to State meetings. He knew a lot of people and was well respected and liked within the party. One thing that Hugh could be counted on for was wire sign hangers. He had a "huge" collection of them and was willing to share them with the GOP candidates.

Hugh had a big impact on our little town of Belvidere, out County, and State. He is going to be missed.

Thanks Emily.....He was always a little "whirl wind" when it came to his political missions. He would always try to get me seemed like I didn't have the time....Bad copout. Again thanks...Dean
