Michael J. Brissett, age 71 years, of Williston, Vermont died on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at the Vermont Respite House in Colchester, Vermont surrounded by his loving family. Born at the Coos County Hospital in West Stewards Town, New Hampshire on January 5, 1948, son of the late John and Gabrielle Brissett
For the past 42 years, Michael lived with his beloved wife, Jessica Brissett in Williston, Vermont having formerly lived on Texas Hill in Hinesburg, Vermont. More recently Michael and Jessica split their time between Williston, Vermont and North Fort Myers, Florida where they enjoyed spending time with Jim and Sandy Guay and the rest of their many friends at Swan Lake. Prior to retiring at the young age of 51, Michael worked as a processing engineer alongside his good friend Frank Horigan for over 30 years at IBM. A true patriarch, Michael will forever be remembered as a loving and wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. The family will keep his memory alive though the telling of the many stories that made up his life.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his sisters Margret (Peggy) Brissett and Elizabeth (Betty) Wilson; and his brother John Jr. Brissett.
Surviving are a brother and sister in law, Donald and Dottie Bressette of Eastford CT; a brother Charles Arthur Brissett of Troy, VT; a brother and sister in law, Thomas and Cindi Brissett of Washington Depot, CT; a sister Catherine (Mimi) Lanpher of Morrisville, VT; son and daughter-in-law, Benjahmin (Ret. MSG U.S. Army) and Kourtney Brissett of Williston, VT son and daughter in law Brian and Julie Brissett of Elkins Park, PA; his grandchildren, Aaron, Charlotte, Matilda (Millie) and Nicholas and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins, especially close Kevin Hampsey.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held in the late spring. The family invites you to share memories and condolences at awrfh.com.
