Obituary for Peggy Sutphen Baird
Peggy Sutphen Baird,91, passed away peacefully at home in Berlin and surrounded by her family on November 15, 2019.
Peggy was born in Port Chester, NY, on February 26, 1928. She moved to Vermont as a teenager and later married Earl Baird on September 16, 1950. They made their home in Berlin with their three children. Peggy was school secretary at the Berlin Elementary school, where she kept order for twenty years. Along with gardening and birdwatching Peggy was an accomplished artist and made the best apple sauce in all of Vermont.
She is survived by her son David and his wife Linda, her daughter Susan, grand children Nina and David, and great grand-daughter Lily. In addition, she leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Peggy is pre-deceased by her husband Earl and son William.
Her family wishes to thank Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice. There are no calling services and a private funeral will be planned for the spring. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
