Obituary for Reneé Utter
Renee’ Utter, 43, of Milton VT, went to be with the Lord on September 1, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her family and close friends at the McClure Miller Respite Home in Burlington, VT.
She was born August 23, 1976 in Oneonta, NY, the daughter of David and Linda Utter of Delhi, NY.
Renee’ was a 1994 graduate of Charlotte Valley Central School in Davenport, NY. She later went on to graduate from Delhi Tech with a degree in business where shortly after she found her love of nursing and went on to complete a nursing degree.
Renee’ was a skilled nurse that showed compassion, kindness, and love to each one of her patients no matter the age. She was a loving mother who always put her children before herself. Renee’ enjoyed watching her children excel in field hockey, cheering them on from the sidelines. She was a doting mother who was proud of each one of her children’s accomplishments and was always there front and center. Family was of upmost importance to Renee’ as well. She spent much of her free time visiting and reminiscing with family members. Renee’ was a current member of the Plattsburgh Church of the Nazarene in Plattsburgh, NY with a prior membership at the Catalyst Church in Jericho, VT. She was a faithful and devoted servant of God. Renee’ will always be remembered for her laugh along with her compassionate and loving heart. Renee’ enjoyed crocheting, reading, contemporary Christian music, and spending time with her cats.
Renee’ is preceded in death by her loving parents David Utter of Hartwick, NY, and Linda Utter of Delhi, NY. She is also predeceased by her grandparents Francis and Marion Utter of Delhi, NY, Junior Bush of Delhi, NY and Leroy Jones of Delhi, NY, Aunt Patricia Utter of Delhi, NY, Uncle Francis Utter, Jr. of Oneonta, NY, and Aunt Rhonda Hitchcock of Davenport, NY.
Renee’ is survived by her beloved daughters Angeleah Rivers and Chelsea Afenyoh both of Milton, VT, Sister Stephanie (Todd) Parks of Chesapeake, VA, Grandmother Rose Bush of Delhi, NY, Uncle Stephen (Beverly) Utter of Delhi, NY, Aunt Diana (Donald) Norton of Plattsburgh, NY, Aunt Arletta (Dan) Brandenburg of Delhi, NY, Uncle John (Carol) Jones of Delhi, NY, Step-Mother Leona Utter of Hartwick, NY, Nephew Todd Parks, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA, cousins Abby Utter of Oneonta, NY, Heath (Christa) Utter of Oneonta, NY, Desiree (Jonathan) Maze of Peru, NY, Duston (Kristine) Norton of Plattsburgh, NY, Deidre (Nathan) Norton of Plattsburgh, NY, Savannah Jones of Delhi, NY, Brandon (Gerri) Jones of Oneonta, NY, Danny (Felicia) Brandenburg of Delhi, NY, Jason (Marcy) Brandenburg of Delhi, NY, special friends Stacy Vangemert of Jericho, VT and Erin Zenoof Milton, VT, Corey Hughes of Milton, VT, along with many other family and friends.
Renee’s celebration of life will be held on Saturday September 14, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Delhi located at 21 2nd St, Delhi, NY, 13753 at 12:00 pm. The family will receive visitors from 11-12 prior to the service. As a tribute to Renee’, the family is asking guests to wear Renee’s favorite color purple in lieu of the traditional black. Following the celebration of Renee’s life there will be a graveside service at the Woodland Cemetery in Delhi, NY for immediate family while guests are welcome to stay and have a luncheon provided by the First Baptist Church of Delhi.
