Kenneth Lucy, 88 of Essex Junction passed away peacefully at his home on December 14, 2018. Mr. Lucy was born in Beacon, New York on August 26, 1930 son of the late Etta and John Lucy. He proudly served our country during the Korean War as a member of the Marine Corps. Kenneth faught in the Battle of Chosin Reservoir, one of the most brutal and heroic battles of the Korean war, and was awarded a Purple Heart for the injuries he sustained there. While Mr. Lucy has no surviving family, he will be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched as he was such a kind and gentle man. A graveside service will be held in the Spring in the Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph for this deserving veteran.

I have only just found out that Kenneth was alive and living in Vermont until his death last December. Kenneth was the younger brother of our grandfather, John Benedict Lucy (Jack). I am heartbroken! My sister and I have been doing ancestry research for the past couple of years and I can't believe we are only just now discovering that Kenneth was alive and living so close (we live in Salem, MA). I see that there is going to be a memorial service in the spring. I hope that we will be permitted to attend.
