Condolence From: William Talley
Condolence: Anita and Family, I remember Deck as a gentleman and an engineer determined to make his ideas and inventions known to those in his view, that needed the technology and could possibly implement it. From sensitive areas in the middle east to US border security, Deck was always thinking of possible solutions. I remember traveling to Maryland and Washington DC with Deck to successfully test his rapid deployable (pop-up) missile decoy….my first trip to DC. I remember discussing his Ideas in his Beavercreek basement laboratory and viewing his student science kit. I discussed skiing and snowshoeing with Anita and met their very friendly dog, Hershey. I was in attendance when Deck was inducted into the Engineering and Science Hall of Fame; a well-deserved end to his career. Deck was a unique individual and I’m glad I was able to meet and work with him.

Condolence From: Gavin Jenney
Condolence: Please accept my condolence for your loss of Deck. I'll always remember his enthusiasm for using technology to improve the security of the U.S. and the many ideas he generated for that purpose. When he "retired" from WPAFB, he did not retire from generating ideas and would often contact me about his latest idea. I appreciate having known Deck.

Condolence: In the few times that I was with him, I could tell he was surrounded by people he loved and those who loved him back. He was so proud of his family, his grandchildren, and the life he led. He will be remembered dearly.

Condolence From: Julia
Condolence: My heart is with you today and always Grandma. Grandpa will always be an inspriration to me and my sister as an engineer and as a member of our family. We are lucky to share so many memories in the form of our visits to Beavercreek, feeding the goats, and playing board games on the porch.

Love always, Julia
