Obituary for Albert F. Lamson, Sr.

Albert F. Lamson, Sr. – 78, a longtime resident of Waterbury Center, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Albert was born in Burlington on December 8, 1940, the son of the late Clarence J. and Dorothy E. (Collins) Lamson. He married Shirley J. Fuller on May 11, 1963 in Waterbury.

Albert grew up in Richmond and Waterbury and attended the Waterbury High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted and served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany. Upon separation from the military, Albert began a career working in the concrete business which spanned 40 years; first working for A.G. Anderson Concrete until the business sold and then with the new owners Carroll Concrete Company. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting, trips to the casino with his wife, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Albert is survived by his wife, Shirley Lamson of Waterbury Center; his children, Sherry Doane and her husband Bradford of Waterbury Center, Albert Lamson Jr. and his wife Kathy of Topsham, Michelle Lamson of Waterbury, and Edward Lamson and his wife Heidi of Hyde Park; ten grandchildrenand six great grandchildren; two sisters, Marcia Holden of Windsor and Sandra Williams of Duxbury, two brothers, Richard Lamson of Jonesville, and Jack Lamson of Barre; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. He is predeceased by five brothers, Everett Lamson, Donald Lamson, Harry Lamson, Stanley Lamson, Sr. and Clarence Lamson, and three sisters, Florence Hanlon, Rachel Guyette and Alma Ashley.
Albert had many special people in his life, in particular Mark (Erinn) Forkey and their children of Moretown who he considered his son and Rebecca Boucher and her children of Holyoke, MA who he thought of as his daughter. They will forever hold special meaning in his life.
At Albert’s request, there are no calling hours and private family services will be held in the Spring.
