Obituary for Allen Corse "Bud" Martin

Allen "Bud" (Corse) Martin, 85 of Enosburg passed away Wednesday August 15, 2018. He was born in Colchester and grew up in Fletcher.

He leaves the love of his life of 60 years Roberta (Mosier) Martin and his children Phyllis Gratton and fiance' Michael Wells, Priscilla Hammond and husband Randy, Gary Martin and companion Louise Simpkins, Pamela Harris & husband Scott, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchild, nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Clifton Corse and Evelyn (Martin) Corse and brother to late Ardelle Spaulding, Thelma Burnor, Rodney Corse, Harrison "Tye" Corse, Shirley White, Clifford "Jr." Corse, Clifton "Cliffy" Corse and leaves siblings Ruth Newhall and husband Roger, Lois Lumbra and husband Frances "Sonny", Maureen Patterson and husband Ed and Colin Corse.

Bud left his family farm and enlisted in the USAF where he was stationed in Biloxi, MS. He was proud to be serving our country and took pride in being a soldier during the Korean War as a Medical Administrator caring for soldiers. The endless letters he wrote to families on behalf of wounded soldiers was a priceless memory he shared with few.

He learned to sugar on his family farm as a young boy and enjoyed sugaring throughout his life. Being an ole' Vermont country boy that he was, we Vermonters love our maple syrup.

He married Roberta and made their home in Waterbury Center where they raised their 4 children. Bud was passionate about gardening as his 'green thumb' showed. His crops were meticulously cared for under his watchful eye, there was always an overflow of produce he enjoyed sharing with family and friends.

He was a lifetime member of the NRA and the American Legion. He worked for the WA County Sherriff's office and later retired at Pizzagalli Construction Company where he had a great compassion for being an operator and loved his work.

There will be a celebration of his life for the immediate family at a later time.

For those who wish, donations may be made in his memory to the Franklin County Home Health & Hospice, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, VT 05478, Enosburg EMS, 83 Sampsonville Road, Enosburg Falls, VT 05450. *Always and forever, a family of 6.*
