Condolence: Janet was a dear friend with many unique qualities and a specialness about her a true friend would understand. I feel blessed to have been a friend. She was so special she joined the Green Mountain Golden Retriever Club and became our agility trial chairman/secretary to help our club become able to put on agility trials. We couldn't have done it without her time, energy and willingness to put up with our learning curve. She also was a New York Yankee's fan with me... we even would both wear our Yankee's shirts on the same day at an agility trial. Janet was an inspiration to so many with her "I'm going to beat this" attitude. I'm proud to say she asked me to give her, her needed injections when at local trials so she could continue to run her dogs and not mess up her medication routine. Such a strong woman... I'm not from Canada but I love their National Anthem and she got the words for me so we could sing the anthem together at the start of the trials. She let me know she was disappointed if I got there too late to sing with her. Janet will be sorely missed for all her hard work and devotion she put into anything she did. I know she is in a far better place, healthy and free from pain and playing with all her dogs and ours that have gone on before us. My deepest sympathy to Noel and all the family. We were blessed to have known her. Hold fast to all your wonderful memories and she will always be with you and in your heart.

Condolence: Was saddened to hear of Janet's passing. I met Janet in grade 8 at Dorval High School, and along with a small group of girls, we became fast friends. We shared many adventures together throughout our teenage and young adult years. Janet and I went on to attend Marianopolis College, and Concordia University. We were involved in Rangers, where Janet and I participated in a camping trip that took us on horseback through the foothills in Alberta. We played our guitars, and formed a singing group called "Sunseer" with girlfriends, performing at local hospitals and retirement homes, as well as at Girl Guide/Boy Scout events. We had such fun planning and going camping in all seasons, especially winter in tents, or railcar cabooses. Janet and I also got our first jobs with Pilgrim Airlines, which had such diverse duties, and was interesting and fun. I will treasure those memories of wonderful times together with Janet. With sympathy to all her family.

Condolence: Noel, I am so sorry for your loss. Janet, you and I had such good times when we were together in Vermont. I miss those days, and the lost opportunity to have more of them makes me sad. But everyone who knew Janet can take example from her joie de vivre, and in her final years, from her stalwart battle to overcome the difficulties that cancer laid in her path. I know you will take comfort from the many loving memories of Janet and the happiness she brought to the people who had the privilege of being her friends. May she rest in eternal peace.

Condolence: Our sympathy goes out to Noel and his family. Not only will she be missed dearly by them but also by the obedience and agility community and the large "Sheltie family" that she was part of! She had such great strength and courage fighting this terrible disease. I remember when she was having her first round of Chemo. She would come here to see Reser and Lacey's babies when she had finished a treatment and it put such a beautiful smile on her face. I enjoyed all the miles we traveled together going to trials and just sitting and having fun with the Shelties. I will miss it! Rest well Janet. A bright star shines in the night for you!

Condolence: I met Janet in kindergarten and for the next 25 years, we were pretty inseparable. We played Barbie's together, went through Brownies, Guides and Rangers and played guitars together in our teenage years with our band-mates. In Grade 3, we wrote our own newsletter for the streets we lived on, which featured Janet's horses (she could draw them well), and collected jokes and stories. With Janet's mother Betty as a teacher, I learned how to sew - Barbie dresses at first and then larger outfits. I remember lying on their living room floor listening to John Denver's Country Roads and talking about the boys we had crushes on. We walked to school (elementary and high school) every day together, making up stories about the Montreal Canadiens (her team) and the Boston Bruins (my team). Janet played piano and I played guitar when we played in the high school talent show. Janet was a bridesmaid at my wedding, and I was a bridesmaid when she and Noel married. My condolences to Noel and the family. I will hold the memories dear.

She had amazing strength and courage to continue to fight each and every health challenge she faced. Noel and her faithful canine companions will miss her deeply. She leaves a big hole not only in her home but in the local dog and the agility/obedience world.

Condolence From: Diane Sullivan
Condolence: The night sky has gained yet another bright star. And we have lost an inspirational friend, a formidable woman of strength, resilience, kindness & courage. I remember many fun classes with Janet & our various pups over the years, as well as working obedience trials together & playing agility. It was Janet who got our Golden Retriever Club started in agility & very patiently taught us all what we needed to know & do, plus worked our first few trials to be sure we were well on our way to continue successful trials. Janet was also a very enthusiastic Rally Judge & was fun to work with at several of our GR rally trials. Always teaching & sharing. I remember too how Janet & Noel always livened up several New Year's Day parties we enjoyed with their music. Janet learned to live in the moment, like our dogs, & to appreciate every bit of joy she could pull from each of those moments. As I said, an inspiration & hard to emulate. Janet will be greatly missed. Be at peace, friend, play with your dogs there now & watch over your family & friends until we meet again. My deepest sympathies, Noel, & to your families. Keep the many happy memories close to your heart. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Condolence: We met Janet and Noel when we started doing agility with our Shelties. It was always fun to talk with them at shows, and especially to talk about our beloved dogs. Through the years, I watch Janet fight cancer with courage and grace. Where others would have given up, she embraced life, and continued to run her dogs despite what she was going through. She also supported the club and did the hard work that kept the agility shows running. I regret that I will never get to watch Janet run again, but I will always remember her beauty and grace in the face of adversity. I hope she finds peace and takes all our love with her.
