Obituary for
Mary Joann Evarts (Evarts)
Mary J. Evarts
Middlebury
On Nov 19, 2015 Mary Joann Evarts, a resident of Helen Porter Healthcare formerly of Addison, said her final goodbyes to all of those that loved her.
Joann was born January 15, 1936, in Pittsford to Raymond and Bridget (O’Brien) Evarts. As the oldest child, she leaves her siblings, Terry (Lucille) Evarts of Waltham, George (Louise) Evarts of Waltham, Jean (Carroll) O’Connor of Addison and Mary Louise (Bing) Austin of Addison; a special nephew, Shaun O’Connor, his wife Stacy, and their two sons, Grady and Hunter; a great-niece, Sierra Pomainville; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents and a niece, Brodie O’Connor.
Joann attended school at the Hunt School in Waltham, and Beeman Academy in New Haven. Joann very much enjoyed going to Elderly Services, taking long walks, listening to music, and playing bingo. We are sure that our beloved sister Joann is telling the good Lord of all the happy days of her life, especially the many years she made her home with her sister Jean and husband Carroll O’Connor.
Along with Joann, her family wants to extend a thank you to the entire staff of the Helen Porter Nursing Home, Addison County Home Health & Hospice, and Dr. Laura Weylman for the special care she received the last few years of her life.
Joann … God will have you in the starting lineup of his softball team, and he has all the Devil Dogs you can eat.
Joann’s wishes were that there would be no calling hours. The family will have a private Catholic burial at a later date. Please share your memories and condolences by visiting www.awrfh.com.
