Condolence: To the family of Wally Roberts: My name is Joe Deffner and I teach English at Thetford Academy. Wally spoke to my Civil Rights Literature class as recently as last May. I am teaching the same course this spring and this morning, I sent an e-mail to him (which bounced back). I initiated a Google Search with his name and "Maine" as I knew he was moving and assumed he had switched e-mail providers. I found his obituary at that point and was so saddened to learn that this very kind person who seemed ever committed to doing the right thing was no longer with us. What a loss for all of us. My life, and the lives of my students are enriched for having known him. He was truly a prince and someone for whom integrity and justice were paramount. A model for me to emulate.
