Condolences

Condolence From: Dana Linn
Condolence: I am still trying to deal with Big Bad Bob passing. When I met him in 1988 that is how his name was referred to me. When I first met him he was intimidating and to some degree remained that way. However I still remember the first time he opened up his house to me. I was given a key to his home. To feel trusted was incredible. We would golf, shop and he would always put me in my place there was no hiding things from him. When I was heading back to Boston he packed me a sandwich. Big bad bob sending me home with food. He had a soft side that I will never forget. My son took his first steps in the ocean when he would take Nicholas and Chris to Maine. Thank you god for putting Bob in my life. The best part was I would be walking to Champlain college and he would say you are right where your supposed to be. That drove me nuts but all these years later I was right where I was supposed to be.

Chris you know how much i cared for your Dad. Hang in there.

Condolence: Thank you Bob for putting up with all my bullcrap as my very first sponsor. My first five years of recovery were guided by Bob's love and compassion and for his ability to cut through my crap helping me see the truth. Bob helped so many others throughout his many years of recovery. He will be missed. My deepest condolences to Christopher and Bob's sister Jeanne as they mourn his loss.

Condolence From: Aides
Condolence: Bob touched my heart and I will never forget it. I will share with others the lessons he taught me: that the program only works if you worked it. I know that he’ll be missed; he’s gone but not forgotten; he’s got a new home group up in the sky. I will save his hat, I know I’ll see him up there! Condolence to his family...

Condolence From: Nathaniel Wiener
Condolence: I had the pleasure of meeting Bob just once on February 26th, 2018. Bob and I talked for about a half hour, during which time he touched me with his candor, humor, warmth, and his endearing (yet well-hidden) positivity. I could go on about Bob’s affect on my life, but I believe that his own words put it best. He told me (transcribed from an interview):

“[If you have kids] made sure you tell them you love them every day. You text them you love them, whatever it takes. Because there are no guarantees … There's no guarantees you're coming back through the door or I'm coming back for the door.”

Rest in peace Bob, your support for those around you will be missed.

Best wishes,

Nathaniel Wiener
