Paraiso

After a round at the Paraiso Golf Club in Spain, we entered the hotel, also called El Paraiso, around which the course was centered. The lobby was massive and was packed with middle-income British tourists on holiday waiting to be called in to dinner. There must have been 150 of them. In the center of the lobby, unoccupied was a beautiful grand piano. Arnold, without hesitation and as if he had been hired for the purpose, strolled to the piano and with great ceremony opened the cover to the keys and sat down. He then, at the top of his lungs, and miming the playing of the piano, began to sing a meddly of American standards. He knew them all and he knew all the lyrics. Blessedly, Arnold actually has a decent voice and stayed impeccably on key. The Brits began looking quizzically at each other but eventually the just sat back and enjoyed the show. By his departure, I was sure that most of them thought that the hotel had hired him for their enjoyment and that his pretending to play the keys was merely Arnold's way of living up to some obscure contractual obligation.
