Gary Michael Rochette, 58 of Essex Junction, passed away on Monday June 5, 2017 at University of Vermont Medical Center. He was born on July 21, 1958 son of the late Leo and Beverly (Lavigne) Rochette.

Gary loved the outdoors, including hunting and fishing especially in the company of his dad and brother. Gary also self taught himself to become a talented and creative painter. He shared his artwork with many friends and family. Gary also dearly loved his 4 grandchildren, including becoming guardian to his eldest granddaughter. He enjoyed his hobbies of collecting specialty knives and coins. Gary will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Gary is survived by loving life partner Lori Barrows of Essex Junction, his daughter Ashley Sawyer and Mark Messier of Jericho, his brother Danny Rochette of Charlotte, three sisters Diane Bird of Starksboro, Laurie Rochette of Huntington, Debbie Rochette of Huntington, four grandchildren Alyena Sawyer, Dominick Barrows, Lilly Barrows, Emmie-Lou Barrows and a baby grandson arriving in September. He is also survived by his nephew Tyler, two nieces Allison and Britany and his feline companion Leo.

He is also predeceased by his faithful companion and beloved boy Milo.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday June 11, 2017 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at A W Rich Funeral Home Essex Chapel, 57 Main Street, Essex Junction, VT 05452. There will be no funeral services and inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family. A reception will follow the visiting hours commencing at 3:30 p.m. at Whitcomb Terrace Community Rood, 136 West Street., Essex Junction, VT 05452.
