Obituary for Jenaya Terese D'Amico

Jenaya Terese D’Amico, 9, of Cambridge passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington. She was born on January 9, 2008 in Burlington daughter of Melanie (James) D’Amico and Bo D’Amico.

She was a third grade student at Cambridge Elementary School.She enjoyed school and always did her best. She played on the school soccer, basketball, and softball teams. Jenaya enjoyed music and one of her favorite activities was to dance. She was part of the JSC dance group. Jenaya was also a member of the Calvary Episcopal Church.

Jenaya enjoyed her monster high dolls, playing outside with her brothers, dancing, listening to music, and making music videos.

Jenaya was known for her quick smile and love of life. Jenaya loved to connect with others. She could turn an acquaintance into a friend in a matter of minutes. She valued being with and playing with her friends. Her friends were very important to her and she loved them.

Jenaya quickly offered comfort and love to anyone that was sad, was quick to share a smile, or join in laughter. Jenaya was all about connection and love. She was an expressive and genuinely happy little girl. Her optimism was contagious.

Jenaya was light, love, and laughter. Jenaya was beautiful in every way because she radiated joy and love; it was her gift to others.

She is survived by her mother Melanie (James) D’Amico,father Bo D’Amico and his partner Heather Hayes, two brothers Jake and Jordan D’Amico, step-sisters Savannah and Cassandra Hayes, grandparents Delbert and Eleanor James, Daniel D’Amico and Barbara D’Amico, her aunts and uncles Darren and Sandy James, Nathan and Goia James, Ivan and Rebecca Davis, Bess D’Amico, Matthew D’Amico, Joe and Jenny Fairburn, Josh and Alicia Kidney, several cousins, Vickie Hong, Jenny and Alex Prufer, Michael Silvia, Madison and Ethan James, Olivia and Leah Fitzgerald, Jack and Vince Fairburn, Olivia Ahlquist and Tyson Kidney.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday April 22, 2017 from 1:00 – 3:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel, 1176 Main Street, Fairfax, VT 05454. Funeral services will be held on Sunday April 23, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Cambridge Elementary School, 186 School Street, Jeffersonville, VT. Burial will follow in the family lot in Fairfax Plain Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Jenaya’s memory maybe made to UVM Children’s Hospital Pediatric Cardiology Fund, 111 Colchester Avenue, Burlington, VT 05401.
