Obituary for Barbara Jean Blair (Cameron)

Barbara J. Blair, age 66, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 12, 2017 at Birchwood Terrace in Burlington following a long illness.

Barb was born on November 23, 1950. She was the daughter of Darwin Cameron Sr. and Velma (Jarvis) Cameron. She attended school in Alburgh and graduated from Alburgh High School in 1968. She went to O’Brien’s School of Cosmetology, where she earned her degree in hair dressing. She drove school bus for many years for the Town of Alburgh, Don D. Bell, and Mountain Transit where she retired. After she retired, she drove for a few years for C.I.D.E.R. She was a member of the Alburgh Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department for several years as an EMT. She was also a member of the American Legion Creller Landon Post 60 Ladies Auxiliary. Barb had a great love for her family and playing guitar with her husband Vercile and great friend Gary Lockerby. She also had a great love for knitting, crocheting, and the Amish. She loved taking trips whether short or long with her mother and other family members.

Barb is survived by her daughters; Amy & husband Justin “Scott” Mashtare, Kelly & Joesph “Skipper” Deyo all of Alburgh, and Kimberly & husband David Lane of Mississippi. Stepdaughters; Lynn Blair O’Neill & companion Gene Creller of Alburgh, Susan & husband David Gillis, and Carol Ann Blair & husband Sean all of Florida. Stepsons; George Blair and Kenneth Blair both of Florida. Grandchildren; Cameron Erno, Jenna & Anna Mashtare, Jodie & Kenneth Frechette, Kerri & Ashleigh Deyo, Alexandria and Katelyn Therrian.

She is also survived by siblings; Darwin Cameron Jr. & wife Karen, Annette Smith & husband Alan, and Martha Pease & husband Dennis. Sister-in-law; Susan Cameron, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves behind many special friends including her childhood friend Debra (Duchaine) Barcomb and her cat Oscar.

Barb was predeceased by; her husband Vercile G. Blair, her father Darwin Cameron Sr., a brother Larry Cameron, and a grandson Keith Mashtare.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday April 19, 2017 at 11 o’clock a.m. at the Saint Amadeus Roman Catholic Church, Alburgh, VT. Father Thomas Nadeau will be celebrant and homilist. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family
