David Paul Lawrence, 70 passed away on Saturday May 21, 2016 at Maple Lane Nursing Home in Barton. He was born on May 24, 1945 son of the late Moses and Lorraine (Corron) Lawrence.
David was the youngest of 9 siblings born to Moses and Lorraine (Corron) Lawrence. David worked as a custodian at St. Michael's College and the Essex Junction Fire Department for 30 years. He was honored to be involved with EJFD, and was proud to walk with them in many Memorial Day parades.
David was a kind man with a huge heart. He would do anything to help out another person. He would often buy presents and deliver them to the staff at his doctor's office, the bank, and to anyone else he thought needed a reason to smile.
David loved driving around Essex in his pick-up truck. Most days he could be found at AJ's Kitchen, his favorite place to dine for breakfast or lunch. He enjoyed visiting and engaging in conversation with the employees and patrons.
David will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
David is survived by his brothers, Winfield Lawrence and his wife, Diane; Moses Lawrence and his wife, Donna; his sisters, Marion Bombardier, Mary Gervais, Rita Gagnon and her husband, Harold; Ilene Pompano and his brother-in-law, Herman Garrow. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his sister Lorraine Garrow and a brother, James Lawrence and his wife, Agnes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Essex Junction on Tuesday, May 31,2016 at 11:00.
